Variable, Inc. Issued US Patent for Spectro…

CHATTANOOGA, TN, Aug. 19, 2020 — Variable, Inc. is proud to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has approved our System and Method for Spectral Interpolation Using Multiple Illumination Sources patent.

The patent details our revolutionary new approach to mobile-paired spectrophotometers with our Spectro 1 and Spectro 1 Pro units. The devices use state-of-the-art optical sensors that measure the visible spectrum. These sensors are preferred over the expensive and delicate optical lenses, mirrors, gratings, and other components found in traditional spectrophotometers to allow the devices to be both hand-held and affordable without sacrificing quality and accuracy.

“Being issued this patent is affirming to the work we’re doing,” says Variable’s Chief Executive Officer George Yu, Ph.D. “We produced the Spectro 1 to help organizations accurately communicate color at all levels. Our devices are the only truly portable spectrophotometers on the market and are comparable to those found in color laboratories.”
